Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) measures the change in sample weight as a function of temperature or time in a controlled atmosphere. This weight change is usually accompanied by an evolution of gases caused by sample decomposition or volatilization. TGA-IR Interface for Nicolet FT-IR spectrometers identifies the components of evolved gases that determine sample characteristics, which cannot be identified using TGA analysis alone.
