Product Detail
The Surface Plasmon Resonance module, SPR 100, provides high sensitivity, high dynamic range and fast measurement time for life science, pharmaceutical and food science research laboratories.
In addition, the module enhances the quantitative characterization of biomolecular interactions including those involving DNA, RNA, protein and carbohydrates in real-time without the use of molecular labels, thereby decreasing measurement time and enhancing identification with increased sensitivity. FT-SPR measures the wavenumber corresponding to the minimum reflectivity, resulting in significant sensitivity advantages over the traditional angle-shift based SPR technology.
The module was specifically designed for use with Thermo's FT-IR spectrometers, including the Nicolet x700 series, Nexus series and Magna-IR series. Therefore, users of these FT-IR models only need a small investment to acquire SPR capabilities for their research. New FT-SPR owners will appreciate both SPR and FT-IR capabilities that allow them to monitor molecular interactions, e.g., the binding kinetic processes, occurring at thin film interface, as well as to characterize the chemical structure and molecular orientation of thin films and monolayers adsorbed onto metal surfaces.
The FT-IR spectrometer with the SPR 1oo modules provides fully functioning infrared spectroscopic capabilities that allow researchers to gain insight into the chemical information of the binding layers. In particular, when coupling a PM-IRRAS module to the FT-IR system, researchers can study chemical structures of monolayers simultaneously. Other sample compartment FT-IR accessories, such as ATR, DRIFT, etc., can also be simultaneously used for different sampling convenience.
