2DCOS (two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy) is an extension of two-dimensional IR spectroscopy (2D-IR) which was traditionally used to correlate spectra synchronously and asynchronously in a third dimension defined by a physical parameter in a dynamic system under study. In its modern usage, it refers to a set of generalized algorithms that apply to systems with different perturbation schemes. The significant advantage and power of 2DCOS is its effective enhancement of spectral resolution and detailed elucidation of the dynamic behavior of spectral intensity variation in a perturbation-dependent dynamic system, particularly with the analysis of the generalized 2D contour maps.
The SpectraCorr Software is specifically designed to give researchers a complete toolbox for performing all types of 2DCOS analyses. The software can perform calculations on data from systems using conventional sinusoidal perturbations, such as mechanical strain analysis of polymers and studies of liquid crystals in electric fields. It also offers tools for generalized correlation analysis of data from systems perturbed by another physical variable such as studies of photopolymerization reactions, variable analyte concentrations in herterogeneous mixtures and photacoustic depth profiling of laminates.
SpectraCorr is compatible with data from the OMNIC Professional Software suite applications as well as generic formats such as CSV text. The software includes an easy-to-use interface with a wide array of settings and configuration options to enable quick generation of highly accurate and easy-to-read correlation maps that can be easily exported to other Windows applications for publication.
