Transient, stable, inducible and in vivo RNAi
The two largest collections of vector-based RNAi tools are available through Thermo Scientific Open Biosystems Products. These include microRNA-adapted shRNA (shRNAmir) libraries targeting human and mouse genomes. Developed in collaboration with Greg Hannon at Cold Spring Harbor Labs and Steve Elledge at Harvard University, shRNAmir triggers for RNAi produce increased specificity and efficient knockdown at single copy. Lentiviral, inducible lentiviral and retroviral formats are available to allow the broadest use in all cell lines including hard to transfect primary and non-dividing cells. The RNAi Consortium (TRC) lentiviral shRNA library targeting human and mouse annotated genes is also available through Thermo Scientific Open Biosystems Products.
The Dharmacon® SMARTvector® shRNA lentiviral platform merges innovations that greatly improve the functionality and specificity of DNA-mediated RNAi and reduce the toxicity. With SMARTvector shRNA Lentiviral Particles, functional silencing sequences can be delivered into a broad range of cell types for long-term knockdown, including those resistant to transfection such as stem cells, primary cells and neuronal cells.
