Scientists at the National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health (NIOSH), have performed research testing the ability of Thermo
Scientific NITON handheld XRF analyzers for the measurement of lead in air
filter samples, compared to the standard digestion and analysis by ICP emission
spectrometry.
They found that the handheld devices produced comparable
results, within +/- 25% of the ICP analytical results.
